WWE News: Jack Swagger Released From WWE

OK people I’m not taken back by this news. Jack Swagger has been utilized poorly for a few years to honest. Swagger a former World Champion had requested and was granted his release from WWE. Swagger called in to the Chael Sonnen’s Beyond The Fight podcast earlier today to make the announcement.

“As of yesterday, Chael, I asked for my release from WWE. It’s still kind of an ongoing process right now. Basically it came down to contract negotiations and we were way off. They didn’t value me at what I thought I was valued at so… this was a business decision. They weren’t giving me the opportunity to make the full amount of income I could for my family so, when you put it like that, it’s time to go.”

These where the word spoken by the Oklahoma alumni.

Swagger rise to the top if the WWE in record pace with his strong wrestling and solid mic work. Moving up quickly in the ranks, Jack first tasted gold winning the ECW title in 2009. A year later Swagger won the Money In The Bank ladder match guaranteeing him a title shot. Swagger cashed in winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Chris Jericho.

After Policy Violation, Jack’s career began to fade. Swagger’s career seemed to be rejuvenated teaming up with Zeb Colter with the “We The People” a pro America angle that was over with the crowds until this day. The success got Jack to another title, this time the US Title. It appeared that Jack was back in the Main Event picture with his anti immigrant angle creating a lengthy feud with Albert Del Rio.

The angle was only to put Del Rio over as champion. After this Jack was back down to the mid-card scene. Jack then faded to obscurity until the Brand Draft last year. Although not drafted, Swagger signed with Smackdown Live. Again Jack on TV is put with Baron Corbin in what seemed to be a solid storyline. Once again Jack was to only used to put over Corbin and it was back to the abyss for Swagger.

Swagger looking for constant pay knows that the wrestling scene is booming at the moment. Swagger is looking to continue to wrestle in Mexico, UK and Japan. Swagger is still relatively young may even dabble in MMA if the money is right.

Guys like Kenny Omega, Drew Galloway, Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks prove that you can certainly make a living outside of the WWE. Best of luck to Jack Swagger (YUP I WILL STILL NOT BREAK KAYFABE). I know he will do well he truly is another talent WWE took for granted.
