‘The Witcher’ Lands Netflix TV Series

We will be able to watch the Witcher – book series and later turned video game – soon! Andrzej Sapkowski‘s masterpiece will be available on Netflix. It’s great to have the original writer of the novels on board with the creative team to tackle this project. Working alongside Sapkowski will be Sean Daniel, producer for ‘The Mummy‘.

Per Sapkowski

“I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,” he added. “I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.”

Other names to be working on the project are filmmaker Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko. Both have worked with Platige Image to give us the amazing CGI for the Witcher video games.

Honestly, it’s great to bring familiar faces to work on making this series thrive. Any video game rendition to the television screen needs the consistency since video game films/shows haven’t done so well in the past.

“There is a moral and intellectual depth in these books which goes beyond genre. It is a story about today and today’s challenges, hidden under a fantasy cover. It is a story about us, about the monster and hero inside of all our hearts.”

A little synopsis if you will. Sapkowski is heavy on staying true to the source material that he’s been writing and is heavily involved in the series. There’s no timeline or estimates as to when we’ll be able to watch Geralt and the family of hunters fight off monsters and demons, but binge watching the series on Netflix is very promising.
