We Look at The New Promo for SyFy’s ‘Krypton’

Superman fans! We finally have something to look forward to! For the first time since Smallville, we are finally going to be treated to an origin story of Kal-El‘s family on the planet of Krypton and the events that led to its doom. David S. Goyer, the writer of Christopher Nolan’s Man of Steel as well as the Dark Knight trilogy will also be writing for the upcoming show Krypton. Rumors surfaced of the show back in 2014 and have been relatively quiet since then.

While there has been an official Krypton Instagram page created, a leaked video of the Teaser Trailer surfaced on both Instagram and Twitter before being deleted and removed from the official social media pages. Though we know how quickly these things spread across the internet.

While there still isn’t a release date, it seems Krypton will definitely be debuting in the near future. We have also learned that Game of Thrones actor, Ian McElhinney will be playing Superman’s great-grandfather Val-El, Cameron Cuffe will be playing Superman’s grandfather Seg-El and Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod. The trailer does show multiple connections to the DCEU, hinting the series may be apart of the same universe as the films though this has not been confirmed yet, since it is a prequel it shouldn’t be too difficult to link the show to the Man of Steel movies, after all, Goyer is writing the show.
