We Look at Roman Reigns Being Traded to Smackdown LIVE

Hello, my wrestling friends, Sunny back at it again and we’re taking a look at yet another trade rumor making its way around the mill. Roman Reigns is reported to be traded to Tuesday’s SmackDown LIVE. We have also reported AJ Styles will be going to Monday Night RAW after Wrestlemania 33, and you can go ahead and take a look at that by clicking HERE! Could the two be linked? It certainly seems so, as this seems like an even trade of talent, though I am going to stress that these are strictly rumors. The rumors began after Vince McMahon made the following statement.

Vince McMahon

“You have fresh talent coming from one brand to the next, So in essence, if you haven’t seen a Roman Reigns on SmackDown, then when he does – if and when he does – then that’s really a big thing. It freshens up talent, and it gives us a much longer range in terms of the use of those talents and the IP that goes with them.” – Wrestlinginc

I’m with you, Vince! This is why I believe bringing back the brand split is perfect, if a superstar isn’t working out on RAW then they can basically strike up a new storyline and start from scratch by heading to the other brand. Plus you have to imagine there will be major roster changes with stars coming up from NXT. Reigns to SmackDown holds many opportunities for the progression of Reigns’ character as he will have the opportunity to work with some of SmackDown’s finest such as Bray Wyatt, former ‘Shield’ member Dean Ambrose, and the “Viper” Randy Orton.  One particular matchup we here at PCPB are interested in with the rumored trade is the “Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin. I mean, that’s already a headliner for some type of PPV, isn’t it? The Lone Wolf vs. The Big Dog. Sounds like a match made in fanboy heaven.

The Big Dog vs. The Lone Wolf

Baron Corbin is due to challenge the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 33. Many speculating a title change to Corbin. If we are entertaining the idea of a Dog vs. Wolf match after Wrestlemania, then we’d have to assume it’s going to be for the Intercontinental Championship. Personally, I believe the feud can be fine without the title on the line though it may be time for Dean to let the title go. Reigns could also start up a feud with Dean in a possible heel turn or ignite an old rivalry with Bray Wyatt. The possibilities are endless, and to be completely honest with you, even though RAW’s ratings don’t compare to SmackDown’s, RAW’s roster is jam-packed full of talent especially with the rise of Braun Strowman. It seems like the WWE realizes the gem they have in Braun, and keeping Reigns around could halt either of their careers as many fans disagreed with the clean win Roman Reigns received over Braun Strowman at the recent Fastlane 2017 PPV. Another good reason to move Roman to SmackDown LIVE.
