‘Stranger Things’ Will Return Halloween 2017
Confirmed by a stunning new trailer, Stranger Things will be releasing it’s second season to Netflix on Halloween 2017.
Aired at Superbowl LI, the new trailer shows flashes of the upcoming new season. There aren’t any scenes of characters speaking, except for Mike shouting Eleven’s name – but there’s still plenty to talk about.
There are flashes of what looks like Will being experimented on or given therapy, and people in HAZMAT suits preparing to enter a quarantined zone. There’s also something else troubling on the horizon – a giant monstrous figure in the sky, hovering over while red lightening flashes around it. It seems that producer and director Shawn Levy wasn’t kidding when he promised us the stakes would be much darker and larger this season.
The show also comes with a disturbing new tagline;
The world is turning Upside Down.
In the world of Stranger Things, we all know that The Upside Down is in reference to the dark alternate dimension that was home to the Demogorgon, the vicious monster that took Will, Barb, and other victims before feeding on them. It looks like this season, the characters will be returning there once more.
Their twitter account seems to confirm this, when a fan tweeted them exclaiming “OCTOBER NEEDS TO COME QUICK.” and received this response;

Although the new season will be coming later than we anticipated, the release date is so absolutely perfect that we can forgive it. With monsters, scary alternate universes and mad scientists creating children with fantastic abilities, there is no better time than the 31st of October 2017.
Stranger Things season 2 will see an extension of the cast; Linnea Berthelsen (Teenland, The Desert, Natskygge) who has been cast as Roman, an “emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child,” who, “although shedoes not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the events at the lab…”; Bobby Newby who is described by Netflix as “a kindheated former nerd who went to school with Joyce and Hopper and now manages the local Hawkin’s radio shack” and will be played by Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings Franchise, The Goonies, The Librarians); Dr Owens who is a “high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year, played by Paul Reiser (Aliens, Whiplash, The Little Hours); and comedian Brett Gelman (30 Minutes or Less, Lemon, Wilson) will be starring as Murray Bauman, “a disgraced journalist turned conspiract theorist who is investigating a cold case in Hawkins.”
Season 2 will also see the return of the original and much loved cast, including Millie Bobby Brown (Intruders, Godzilla: King of Monsters, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland), Finn Wolfhard (It, Supernatural, The 100), Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands, Girl, Interrupted, Black Swan), David Harbour (The Equalizer, Suicide Squad, Black Mass), Gaten Matarazzo (The Blacklist), Caleb McLaughlin (Blue Bloods, Shades of Blue, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Noah Schnapp (The Circle, The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure, Bridge of Spies) and more, who are all thrilled for their comeback as shown by the video released of their reaction to the new trailer.
