Season 2 of Riverdale Is a Fact

When you love a show and get invested in it nothing is worse than a sudden cancellation. But some good news got out on the 7th of March for those of us who love Riverdale, because the show is renewed for a second season. Yeah baby.

Riverdale is based on the Archie Comics and mainly follows the lives of Archibald “Archie” Andrews (KJ Apa), Elizabeth “Betty” Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Forsythe “Jughead” Jones III (Cole Sprouse) and their loved ones. Although the term loved ones should be used very lightly, some are very hard to love. Riverdale is written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, chief creative officer of the Archie Comics, and executive produced by Greg Berlanti among others.

I am not going into too much detail about the show because that would give away some serious spoilers and that wouldn’t be fun for most of you. But what is no secret is that some amazing actors are also making regular and/or guest appearances on the show: Lochlyn Munro (Hal Cooper, Betty’s father), Mädchen Amick (Alice Cooper, Betty’s mother), Luke Perry (Frederick “Fred” Andrews, Archie’s father) and last but not least Molly Ringwald (Mary Andrews, Archie’s mother).

But I can shed a little bit of light on what is going on in Riverdale without giving away too much. Now what is a teenage drama series without some love triangles and some drama of any kind like a murder, a disappearance and numerous secrets and off course some stellar music. The show features music from among others Archie and Josie and the Pussycats; as they are now implemented in the Riverdale universe. As time passes some people get more acquainted and some people get more and more estranged from each other. Yep, I know it is not much to go on but otherwise I would spoil so much and the show is too good not to experience it for yourself and feel all the feels. Believe me you shall feel.

We are now half way trough the first season, which consists of 13 episodes. With 7 more episodes to go the plot thickens and more secrets are made and revealed. I can’t wait to see what is in store for our Riverdale residents, but especially to our leading four. So are you as excited as me for the second season, let us know by commenting.

Riverdale airs on Thursday on the CW at 9/8 pm central and one day later it will be available for streaming on Netflix. If you can’t watch for now and you want to be updated and don’t mind spoilers you can read Sasha’s reviews of the show.

But to get in the mood here is the trailer for tonight’s Chapter Seven: In a Lonely Place.
