Ryan Murphy’s Working on New Anthology series ‘Pose’ for FX Set in 1986
Ryan Murphy is a busy man with an announcement of his new tv show ‘Pose ‘ and is written by Murphy, frequent collaborator Brad Falchuk ( AHS, ACS, Glee) and Steven Canals with Murphy directing the first episode.
Pose, set in 1986, explores the juxtapositions of several segments of life and society in New York City with the emergence of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world. According to Deadline, Murphy has started casting for the series, which will feature new and unknown actors. Murphy will re-team with American Crime Story producers Jacobson and Simpson who will produce with Murphy, Falchuk and Canals along with Sherry March (Vikings) also serving as a producer on the project.
Murphy currently has his fingers in quite a few pies at FX with American Crime Story’s second season about Hurricane Katrina and the third season about the Versace Murder, set to premiere in 2018. Murphy has also optioned the rights to a Monica Lewinsky based book as the source material for a potential fourth season of Ameican Crime Story (ACS).
Feud has recently been renewed for a second which will revolve around the Charles and Diana saga, and his American Horror Story has been picked up for two more seasons which will take the AHS Anthology through to season 9. If given the green light by FX we could see ‘Pose ‘ debuting sometime in 2018.
