Randy Orton Winning the Royal Rumble, Shows Lack of Faith in New Talent

Damn you WWE just as I think you might take the interesting route and go with say with either a Braun Strowman or Chris Jericho win you go with RANDY ORTON? Really WWE? You had the most open Rumble in years and you chose to go with another one of Triple H’s cronies? Just as the company takes 5 steps forward, you take 10 steps back.

I was going to write a lengthy article on my thoughts on the winner of the Rumble having got up at 2 AM especially, you know when you even start thinking about a Roman Reigns win or heck even James Ellsworth winning better than something you’ve seen 10 million times before.

Don’t even get me started on the possibility of John Cena vs Randy Orton AGAIN let alone at Wrestlemania or Roman Reigns vs The Undertaker.

I feel like WWE has fooled us into thinking we were in the so-called ‘New Era‘ an era that has been highlighted with people such as Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, Kevin Ownens, Finn Balor and many more being given a chance to shine, with past headliners such as The Miz and Chris Jericho being given another chance in the spotlight. So why did WWE not give these guys a chance to further all the hard work they have done the past year?

The answer is simple it’s a combination of backstage politics that only rivals that close to the mid 90’s and fear. If it was anyone but Randy Orton I wouldn’t have said backstage politics but you have to think in the most open Rumble in years to give it to The Viper smells not only of handshakes and favours backstage but fear of giving other talent a chance to shine. With Triple H winning last year and Orton winning this year and Batista winning in 2014, my bet for 2018 is none other than the Nature Boy, good ol’Naitch Ric Flair. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Imagine the response if Dean Ambrose or Sami Zayn would have won, I know both were highly unlikely giving their current booking, but the buzz would have been amazing, instead I’m feeling well MEH!

Good night internet I’m off to bed. maybe when I wake up it will have all been a dream, a very horrible dream.

I just woke up to this tweet from WWE’s official Twitter feed.

Dear god no 🙁
