New Star Wars Trailer Released
Hello, Viewers! Today’s topic takes us to a galaxy far far away… Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This film is starring Daisy Ridley as Rey, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. Quite a nice lineup if you ask me.
The new Star Wars teaser trailer recently released and, by the looks of it, there’s a lot going on. Let’s take a look.
Whoa. Where do we even begin?
Let’s start at the beginning of the trailer. Why must they scare us right off the bat? Star Wars isn’t meant to be a horror film! All joking aside, I believe the reasoning behind the jump scare is to get our full, undivided attention. My only question about this scene; Is she training hardcore or did the Force show her a vision in her sleep and she absolutely has to get fresh air? Either way, this scene is intense.
She is Strong with the Force
After the island shots and the short silhouette scene of Rey, it seems like it could be her hand touching the ground with some shards of rock floating inches off the ground. At this point, things are getting intense to the point where we’re are getting goosebumps!
The Grey Code
This Easter Egg tells us a lot more than you think. That symbol that you see in the trailer, also in the picture above, represents the Grey Code. The Grey Code is neither Light or Dark. They must keep the balance between The Sith and The Jedi. To me, I believe that this can go a couple ways. In most of the franchise, the Sith have most of the advantages when it comes to the war. Therefore, those who stand with the Grey Code would fight along the Jedi to restore balance. Now, if turned the other way where the Jedi would take over Sith, those who stand with the Grey Code would fight AGAINST the Jedi. So, expect a lot of (possible) craziness and confusion when watching the film.
It’s Time for What?!?
A couple of fight scenes in and BOOM! Luke Skywalker said something we weren’t ready to hear. “It’s time for the Jedi to end.” Please, say it’s not so! I honestly believe that what he says here, backs up the whole Grey Code deal. Killing innocents and even Sith is against the Jedi Code. That being said, I think we should expect a lot of big deaths in this movie. Luke has seen his people and all sorts of friends die throughout the war. So, I’m sure he has about had it and says that the Jedi way is not cutting it. It’s time for a change. It’s time for balance in the galaxy.
This teaser trailer leaves a whole lot of unanswered questions. Will Finn (John Boyega) wake up from his coma? What does Luke really mean about the Jedi era to end? Is the Grey Code even a thing? What kind of Jedi, if nothing else, will Rey become? Was that a dream that she had at the beginning of the trailer or was she really training hardcore? Where is this island that Luke and Rey are training on? No seriously, that looks like a sweet place to camp and get away from the world. Should we prepare ourselves for any big deaths? What do you expect to see out of the film? What would you like to see happen? Leave a comment below and tell me what you think.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will hit the big screen December 15th this year in a galaxy near you.
