Legendary Actor John Hurt Dies Aged 77

Pop Culture Pipe Bomb has the sad news to report that another LEGEND (I am not using this term loosely) of the small and big screen has passed away. I am of course talking about the iconic Sir John Hurt.

The Bafta award winning actor rose to prominence in the film the Elephant Man and went on to star in many more films such as the Harry Potter franchise (Ollivander) , Hellboy (Professer Bruttenholm) and and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Control). He even had time in the later stages of his career to star as the ‘war Doctor’ in the iconic tv series Doctor Who. These are just some of the many roles he graced our screens on both big and small, you can check out his very impressive filmography here.

Sir John was sadly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in 2015 and our condolences go out to his friends and family from the family here at Pop Culture Pipe Bomb.

Let’s remember John in some of his best bits from his stint in Doctor Who below.
