John Simm to Return as The Master This Season of Doctor Who

Oh boy, I feel sorry for Peter Capaldi. It looks like his Timelord is going to be in a mess of trouble with two Masters to deal with. Man, it sounds like this season is going to be wonderful to watch.

Recently confirmed by the BBC that John Simm will be returning as The Master during the final season of Capaldi’s Doctor. And Simm will be teaming up..well…not teaming up per say, but an antagonist with Michelle Gomez who is our current Master, or um Mistress. The poor Doctor, how is he going to deal with these two foes this season? Plus we have not seen the Master since 2010 at the end of Tennant rain of The Doctor so this is a pleasant surprise.

“Nothing stays a secret for long on Doctor Who but you’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see exactly what the Master is up to and how he makes his return to face The Doctor. It’s been a huge pleasure to have fan favorites John Simm and Michelle Gomez face to face in the same role! It’s not often you get to see a solo personality clash.” –Moffat

This is exciting, to say the least. We all know how well The Doctor gets along with himself when he has to pair up with a previous or future regeneration, so I imagine putting the past Master with the current Mistress is going to be interesting. I have a feeling that they may not attack The Doctor together, but maybe at different times, trying to “one up” the other to show who is the better Master. I don’t know for sure, just seems like something I can see happening with those two. Either way, it’s going to be a storm of trouble for The Doctor this season, and what a perfect way to say goodbye to Capaldi. I feel this his final season is going to go out with a bang. And don’t forget, the next season airs April 15th!! ^_^
