Fifth Indiana Jones Movie Pushed Back to 2020
Hey, y’all. Deven B. here to drop a quick Hollywood update for you.
It seems the next installment of my favorite franchise of all time is going to be pushed back a year.
Instead of the next Indiana Jones movie being released in 2019, it’s been switched to 2020. Why? I don’t know. I guess Disney had to juggle the insane amount of money making hits they’ve gotten their hands on.
So Harrison Ford will be 78 years old by the time the next one comes out. After The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, it was widely thought the franchise would be rebooted to appeal to a younger audience al la the way James Bond was re-done when Daniel Craig took on the role.
It was speculated that Bradley Cooper or possibly Robert Pattinson would be favored to take on the role. I myself would have had no problem if Shia LeBeouf became the star of the franchise, but it seems he’s sworn off mainstream movies for now.
My new vote would be Chris Pratt. He’s got the rugged looks and the acting chops to take on the comedic action role. Why not? Apparently, there’s nothing Chris Pratt can’t do.
We’re waiting to hear what the next film will be called but Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 20, 2020. That’s just three days from Ford’s 78th birthday. I’m curious to see if and how Ford will handle the physicality of the role.
