Doctor Who Season 11: Pearl Mackie Not Sure She’ll Return

It seems Doctor Who Season 11 is going to be…well, a game changer.

The News

Hey, y’all. Deven B. here with the latest Doctor Who Season 11 news.

We’ve already been told longtime showrunner Stephen Moffat will be leaving at the end of Season 10. We also know current Doctor Who, Peter Capaldi is leaving, too.

Now, it seems unclear whether Pearl Mackie (Bill Potts) will be returning, either.

Pearl Mackie as Bill Potts

To be honest, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Mackie’s character at first. But after binging the first four episodes of the season I have to say she’s growing on me.

While Bill took an episode or two to grow on me, it seems she was immediately popular with a majority of the show’s fans. ScreenRant even goes so far as to say  she’s “…injected the show with an energy that it has been lacking for a long time.”

It seems we just can’t ever get over our love of watching the look on a new companion’s face when they walk into the T.A.R.D.I.S. for the first time. And who doesn’t love hearing the gasp as they look out into space or on an alien’s face for the first time?

As well as being a totally new companion, Bill Potts is the first companion to represent the LGBTQ+ community.

What’s in store for Doctor Who Season 11?

So Doctor Who Season 11 is looking like it’s going to be a totally new show. We’ll have a new showrunner and a new Doctor. It’s looking like we may have a new companion. It’s even looking like there will be a new villain to look forward to also as Missy, played by Michelle Gomez, is going, too.

Maybe all the changes will be a good thing; a sort of “reboot”. I, for one, am looking forward to the changes.
