Dave Bautista Working on Eternal Warrior

Dave Bautista is looking to take on another comic book project with Eternal Warrior.

Dave’s acting career has been taking off in the last couple of years. Guardians of the Galaxy showed people his comedic side. He received a lot of praise as the silent henchman Mr Hinx in Spectre. Dave’s schedule is full for the next few years, and he’s looking to add to that.

Dave announced on twitter that he was working on Eternal Warrior. He said “I’m really excited about EW. We are currently working to get the script fan worthy and then we’ll be full on from there”.

Other than this tweet details on the project are scarce.

Eternal Warrior is a character created by Valiant Comics who have not commented on the project. So it’s possible Dave announced the project prematurely.

For those who don’t know Eternal Warrior, it was a comic book that ran from 1992 to 1996. It is about Gilad Anni-Padda. Gilad was made immortal after he died on the battlefield by a mysterious artefact. While he’s immortal, there are weird side effects to his immortality. He can be killed but can come back to life.

Alsoitshe has to protect the Geomancer who the earth has chosen it to be it’s champion.

I know it’s weird when you first hear it. I understand Dave wanting it to be faithful to fans but he needs to make sure non-fans can make sense of it.

As well as Immortality the Warrior has super strength and is one of the best fighters in the world.

This is not the first movie about a Valiant comics character being developed. Jared Leto is set to star in a Bloodshot movie currently being developed.

It’s unclear what exactly what Dave’s role is in this project. He is clearly enthusiastic about the project which is always good. By his tweet, he will have a hand in writing the script and will likely have a role in the movie. Given his size maybe he will play Eternal Warrior.

This adds to Dave’s already busy schedule. What he said in a Talk is Jericho Interview that he is set to star alongside Sylvester Stallone in the Escape plan sequel and a movie with Jodie Foster. In terms of wrestlers going to Hollywood, his career is going more in the direction of The Rock rather than a Hulk Hogan. Thankfully for him.
