Ben Affleck Explains What Separates his Batman From his Predecessors
I literally was having this conversation with my girl on the drive home from Portland Saturday, but with Jokers of the Batman franchise.
Every Batman is different in his own way, from the man who played him, to his co/star and villain. Ben Affleck places his voice out there as to what separates his Batman from the others (besides the bulky suit.)
“Its different in terms of tone and, obviously, just a different actor. I think the most profound difference is that I’m playing the part at an older age than those guys were when they played it, and it’s about a guy who’s had a long life of this experience, rather than someone who’s just setting out on the journey to become this guy. He’s older and wiser, I guess. And he was pretty pissed off in Batman vs Superman, but now it’s not about revenge in Justice League, it’s about protecting the Earth. So the feel is different.”
Affleck did kind of get a bad rep for playing the Dark Night, I know a lot of people hated that he got the part. But I wonder how many people looked at it from this point of view? I personally liked him as the Bats, and honestly the only thing I didn’t like was the suit they had him wear. It made Batman look fat, and the man should not look fat… He should look built and toned, not bulky. (At least it didn’t have nipples like the Batman forever suit did.)
Tell me what you think. Do you feel that Affleck is right on what separates him from the others? Let alone, do you feel he is doing well as the Caped Crusader? ^_^
