American Assassin Trailer Drops starring Dylan O’Brien

And he wasn’t wrong. In less than 24 hours the first full trailer was released. Before showing the trailer here is some more information about the film.
American Assassin is based on the best-selling book by the late Vince Flynn and will be directed by Michael Cuesta. Although it is the 11th book Vince Flynn has written about Mitch Rapp, it is chronologically the first in the series and describes how it all started for Mitch Rapp.
That latter fact gives Dylan O’Brien the opportunity to grow in his role as an undercover CIA counter-terrorism agent Mitch Rapp throughout the years. Due to his age Dylan O’Brien has been favoured (after a very long time) over more well-known and established actors. I haven’t read the book(s), but seeing that this is the first of many more to come I can see where the studios are coming from. And I am so hoping to see him in this potentially long run of the film series.
The film is about Mitch Rapp who was recruited into America’s most elite covert operations program, thus becoming a CIA black ops recruit, after a tragic event. There he is trained by Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). Mitch is turned into a man with a mission of retribution after completing the training. In which he learns the lethal skills necessary to target the most dangerous enemies everywhere. Sounds a bit like James Bond does it not; just American instead of British. It is the combined task from Hurley and Rapp, which they receive from the CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan), to investigate several apparently random attacks on military and civilian targets. They discover a pattern in it all which leads to a deadly team-up to stop a mysterious person who wants to start a war in the Middle East. Sounds very exciting to me. But without further ado let’s look at the trailer.
Dylan O’Brien has grown a lot as an actor over the last couple of years from geeky Stiles Stilinksi on Teen Wolf to this hot and beefy action man with some mad skills. And I must say it suits him. I may be a little biased, since I am a fan of him but his acting is superb (just look at void Stiles). I expect to see a lot more of him because I think the sky is the limit for him.
Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien)This is the first film he worked on after his accident on the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure. Production of that film came to a halt immediately after his accident in March 2016 and has resumed in February of this year. I am so excited to see that his accident hasn’t slowed him down much and that American Assassin will hit the theatres on the 15th of September 2017.
